New features and improvements

The new Preview Subtitles Only allows you to skip empty sections or automatically speed up playback between subtitles, making review faster and more efficient.

You can configure Preview Subtitles Only in User Configuration > General.

To activate and deactivate the Preview Subtitles Only, you can either use a hotkey “Toggle preview subtitles only” or simply click the new icon in the toolbar.

Please note this new feature only works in Review Mode.

It is now possible to pin a subproject in the Multilingual QC tool.

The pinned subproject will always become the first column in the project.

Please note pinned subprojects can still be edited. These are not locked subprojects.

To pin or unpin a column, go to the three dots in each of the subprojects or to the Multilingual QC menu.

Under User configuration > Timing, there’s now an option to preview subtitles when timing in Review Mode - “Allow subtitle preview while timing in Review Mode”

This settings in ON by default. If turned off, the subtitles won’t be visible in the Video player preview while timing them in Review Mode.

When changing the language in Project settings or Export presets, the font no longer changes if the language you are changing to has the same character set.

We’ve added two hotkeys that will work in Closed Captions mode.

  1. Chain to next subtitle - Using this hotkey will chain the active subtitle to the next subtitle.

  2. Detach from next subtitle - Using this hotkey will detach the active chained subtitle from the next subtitle.

In the Transcribe tool, it is now possible to add column values (for example, speaker ID) to a range of subtitles.

To do so, select the subtitles you want to set the values for and set the value for one of them.

In the OOONA Toolkit integration with the OOONA Manager, we have now added a language-territory option to the File Naming language codes.

To use it, go to Toolkit settings > File Naming configuration, in the Language dropdown menu options, choose one of the two new Key-Country options available:
