What are Interval dates?
Interval dates are delivery dates with equal gaps between them, for example, delivering an episode a day, every 2 days, once a week, etc…
The purpose of this tool is to facilitate entering interval Order or Task dates into multiple orders.
In the following example, I will set interval deliveries of one episode a day, starting from May 2nd.
Setting Interval dates with Multi-cell pick (Automatic)
Start by switching to the “Multi-cell pick” editing mode
Select the cells you want to update in the column in one of the following ways:
Select the whole column by clicking the equivalent “Multi-cell pick” icon in the column’s header (fig 1)
Select specific cells by dragging over them with ctrl clicked
Cherry-pick specific cells with ctrl clicked
Once the required cells are selected (fig 2), click the Edit button to set up the date interval (fig 3)
Start by entering the delivery date of the first order in the “Update date” field (fig 1)
Click The Gear button to set up the interval (fig 2)
Set the required gap, in days or in weeks, between the delivery dates (fig 3)
Switch on “Skip over weekends” if you want to refrain from setting delivery dates to weekend days (fig 4)
If you switch off “Skip over weekends”, weekend days will be marked with pink frames after the dates will be entered to differentiate them from week days
Click “Save and close” to set the dates (fig 5)
The result when “Skip over weekends” is On
Orders/tasks will not be scheduled on weekend days
The result when “Skip over weekends” is Off
Orders/tasks will be scheduled on weekend days
Weekend days will have a purple frame to differentiate them from weekdays
When you’re done, make sure to revert back to your preferred edit mode
Setting Interval dates with “Paste” (Semi-automatic)
Start by entering the delivery date of the first order in the “Update date” field (fig 1)
Click The Gear button to set up the interval (fig 2)
Set the required gap, in days or in weeks, between the delivery dates (fig 1)
Switch on “Skip over weekends” if you want to refrain from setting delivery dates to weekend days (fig 2)
Once set, you can start entering the delivery dates with the interval in any of the following ways:
Double-click the required date field to paste the date you see in the “Update date“ field.
Click the “Paste” button of the date field (clipboard icon), to paste the date you see in the “Update date“ field
As you continue pasting into the date fields, the dates with be pasted according to the interval you set.
The result when “Skip over weekends” is On
Orders/tasks will not be scheduled on weekend days
Weekends will be skipped when pasting the dates
The result when “Skip over weekends” is Off
Orders/tasks will be scheduled on weekend days
Weekend days will have a purple frame to differentiate them from weekdays
