Genearl

for security reasons, OOONA enables limiting file download capabilities in 2 ways.

  1. File type level download limitation

  2. Time based limitations (in days)

Setting File type level download limitations

To allow\limit download of a specific file type:

  1. Navigate to Administrator > File tables > File types

  2. Click the Magnifying glass of the relevant file type

    1. To allow download - set the “Can be downloaded” switch to ON

    2. To disable download - set the “Can be downloaded” switch to OFF

Resources that should be able to download Videos can be given a role to bypass this limitation.
Role name: Can download file types that are marked as cannot be downloaded.

Setting time based limitations

Limiting the number of days the file can be downloaded.

Limiting the number of days a file can be downloaded can be done on two levels:

  1. System level

  2. Resource level

Setting time based system level limitation

  1. Navigate to Administrator > Web administrator > Configuration > Security

  2. Set the “File accessibility once uploaded (in Days)” field to the required value (fig 1)

  3. Click “Save & Close” (fig 2)

Setting time based Resource level limitations

  1. Navigate to Manager > Rolodex tables > resources

  2. Click the Magnifying glass of the relevant resource

  3. Set the “File accessibility once uploaded (in Days)” field to the required value (fig 1)

  4. Click “Save” (fig 2)
