OOONA Tools - Version 3.45 (March, 2025) - TBC

New features and improvements

We are releasing a new tool to help streamline the QC of multiple files at the same time.

With the Multilingual QC, you will be able to QC multiple files side by side and make the necessary changes.

We have changed the way the “Shot change snap area” field, under Project Settings > Cues, calculates shot changes.

Previously, when setting this field to 12, for example, the in and out-cues would be flagged by the Run checks/Run fixes or automatically snapped if they were 12 or less frames away from a shot change.

With the new development, this will no longer be the case. If the “Shot change snap area” field is set to 12, only in and out-cues 11 or less frames away from the shot change will be flagged or snapped to the shot change.

Please change your presets accordingly, if needed.

It is now possible to scroll the video with the mouse wheel in the timeline.

and choose by how much you want the timeline to be scrolled.

It is now possible to recut a project using a reference subtitle.

Using this new feature will allow you to recut the entire project based on a specific subtitle.

For example, if you use subtitle 12 as reference to recut a project, subtitle 12 will move to the specified timecode and subtitles 1-11 will recut as well, based on that.

To use this new feature, go to the usual Timecode recut/offset dialog and choose “Entire project”, check “Use reference subtitle” and fill out the subtitle number you want to use as reference.

We now have two new hotkeys that will allow recutting a project to the playhead position while bypassing the usual Recut/Offset dialog.

To use them, set the following hotkeys under Hotkeys > Edit tab:

  • Recut all subtitles to playhead position - will recut the entire project (from subtitle 1) to playhead position

  • Recut from current subtitle to playhead position - will recut project starting only from the active subtitle

The active subtitle is now highlighted in green in the timeline.

Waveform zoom and timeline zoom level will now be saved automatically.

It is now possible to use the Compare Source and Target feature in the Review Pro tool.

Country selection was removed from the Audio Description synthetic voice settings. Instead of selecting the project language, and then a country in the AD tab to get a specific accent, the user now needs to select the correct language with the country code. E.g. French (Canada) or English (Australia).
